Information, support and activities for unpaid carers living in Bexley.
To mark the vital and often unsung role of Bexley’s unpaid carers, three free events are taking place in the borough through June 2026.
- Bexley Holiday Inn on Monday 8th June, 10.00-2.00, for anybody providing unpaid help, care or support to somebody that relies on them. Places must be booked in advance so please visit our events page here to book
- Bexley Voice Send Summer Marketplace at Danson Youth Centre on Tuesday 16th June, 9.30-12.30. A drop in for anyone looking after loved ones with special educational needs up to 25 years old.
- Belvedere Gurdwara on Tuesday 30th June, 11.00-3.00, for anybody providing unpaid help, care or support to somebody that relies on them. Places must be booked in advance so please visit our events page here to book

The Holiday Inn event is organised by the Bexley Carers Partnership, which involves the Local Authority, NHS and local charities. There will be information on support and advice available to unpaid carers in the borough from a variety of organisations. There will be discussions and practical tips on coping with stress, looking after your mental health, direct payments and other important aspects of health and nutrition.
There will be a gift bag for all carers on arrival, a free buffet lunch and refreshments and free activities such as massage, reiki, soundbaths, gentle exercises, and a singing group. Just as importantly, it is also a valuable opportunity to meet other carers in a relaxed, informal setting.
The SEND Summer Marketplace at Danson Youth Centre is hosted by Bexley Voice. It is a drop-in for anyone looking after loved ones with special educational needs, an opportunity to find out about sources of support and see what SEND activities are on offer during the summer. Bexley Carers Partnership will be bringing some of the activities providers to this event so while they are there, attendees can join free soundbath and yoga sessions, or receive a relaxing massage or reiki.
Following two weeks later, a further carers event will be held on Tuesday 30th June in partnership with Belvedere Gurdwara. Again, there will be a marketplace of support organisations, a variety of activities such as Tai Chi, soundbaths and yoga, and there will be the opportunity to partake in langar, a delicious meal prepared by the volunteers at the Sikh temple, enjoyed communally and intended to nurture a sense of equality and community.
All unpaid carers are welcome. To be kept up to date with further events and information please sign up to the local carers newsletter.
